A delightful Christmas card received from the Ukrainian community for the carol service on Friday 15 December
Bro Roy Dawson, Olicana Masonic Lodge, along with his wife, Pat, organised a Carol Service in aid of ISSUE: Ilkley and Surrounds Support for Ukrainian Evacuees.
The event was hosted by the Freemasons of Ilkley at the Lodge rooms on Cunliffe Road.
The event was supported by the Lady Freemasons and Brethren from the Ilkley lodges along with the Ilkley Choral Society and members of the Ukrainian community with their children who sang a selection of traditional carols and a beautiful rendition of Hallelujah.
Readings covering the Christmas narrative and carols with Ilkley Coral Society coming to the fore with great gusto made for a wonderful atmosphere.
W.Bro Phil Atkinson performed a sensational Solo of O Holy Night.
A fantastic evening was then capped off downstairs with everyone enjoying Mince Pies, Christmas Cake, Stollen and a Bailey’s or two.
Our Ukrainian guests sold traditional home made Ukrainian crafts, which were eagerly snapped up and the event raised money through a collection to support ISSUE.
Thanks to everyone who supported this event.
